Jeremiah 2:19; Hebrews 12:1-11
If you are not troubled by unrighteous acts; If you find yourself constantly finding ways to justify your thinking and actions; If your appetites are selfishly hungering for worldly things and you feel no chastening from God, my friend, you are on your way to total destruction and separation from God.
God will not punish children that are not His. But He will correct His own and deliver them from the snare of the fowler, (Psalm 91:3). Sometimes God allows us to go through troubles and trials to prepare us for better things on down the road. And all of Gods chastening is not for doing wrong, but to prepare us for the right things we can’t see yet.
If we, as Gods children, close our eyes and harden our hearts to the sinful conditions that surround us; have no compassion for the lost, as we once were; And are not willing to live a separated life unto God, then we’re getting used to the dark and our stubborn will has not yet been broken, and I dare say that many people will scream out in hell, crying, “Why didn’t you tell me!”
In Jeremiah’s day, God called for repentance, and He’s still calling today, “Return, backsliding children; I will have mercy upon you” (Jeremiah 3:22). If you will repent my friend, and lay yourself out on an altar, and pour yourself out like melted wax, seeking to hold nothing back, but desiring to know God “in the power of His resurrection...”, in the light of a redeemed one, He will restore you with joy, peace and gladness.
“Heart Cry”
What must I give? Surely my all;
In repentance, unworthy, I fall.
O Glorious day, my sins washed away;
On God, I will continually call.
