Isaiah 26:9
God has never been lost and Christ is not missing that He cannot find his way. But many times, we that are His, have misplaced our priorities. We’ve left Jesus standing somewhere and are struggling to find how to return to His blessings again. He continually calls, "Repent, come back" to His blessings again. You can’t go it alone. The adversary is too powerful, he will destroy you in the way.
You may say, I have not lost Jesus, but have you looked at your prayer life lately? If you haven’t entered your secret place today, you’ll find Him there. Have you deliberately sinned in realizing God’s will and have not done it? Then to find Jesus again, you’ll have to turn from it and give up your sin.
You’ll need to call on the Holy Spirit to kill that thing that brings you to lowliness of Spirit. Did you lose Jesus by not studying the Scriptures? Then start now and He will cause you to fall in love with His word.
Look for Christ where you dropped Him, He is there waiting, weeping, and wanting you to desire Him more than your waywardness. To human nature, ten miles forward is easier than two miles back.
It’s hard to figure out how we lose Jesus, when we say He is the dearest friend we’ve ever had. We must stay close to Him, and never think of being apart from Him again. We need His presence and His comforting words. I can’t imagine what is more important than His sweet touches of mercies. We must watch close, so that we do not lose sight of Him. Seek Him out early, and your day will be sweeter.

Oh! Where is my friend, and my wonderful blessing?
O, there He is, I’ve ran off and left Him!
