Romans
8:28
Yesterday
evening, on the way to a preaching engagement, my wife and I were involved in
an automobile accident. My wife received one broken finger, a dislocated finger
and we both wound up with several bruises and bumps. The other person involved
was uninjured. Gods providential care was well evident, it could have been much
worse, had our speed been greater. While going to do good and be a blessing to
others, tragedy struck, in a few moments of time, a good number of people’s
lives changed at the scene of the accident, on the way to the hospital and
several hours at the hospital.
Some
people at the scene of the accident said we were “Lucky,” but my wife and I
declared boldly that God’s protective hand was enforced. As it turned out the
EMT’s were born again believers, so we shared testimonies on the way to the
hospital. We talked of His goodness, and that he had a plan that we could not
yet see. At the hospital, while waiting, as the emergency room was very busy
with many accidents, we were again given the privilege and opportunity to
witness of the protective grace and mercy of our loving Savior. An “accident”
shows simply, we are still under construction and when we become a finished
product, God will say, “Well done thou good and faithful servant...”
I firmly
believe, had this not happened, we would not be prepared for the “next things”
of God. Nothing is accidental with God’s children, those that are walking in
His will.
“His Plan”
God’s great grace is knowing,
That of His mercy He’s
showing:
No accidents come from
His hand,
It all fits into His
over-all plan.
