January 21, 2023 ~ January 2023 Devotions: "Radiant"

 And so, I continue. . .

That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works.  Psalms 26:7 KJV

Mark 9:2-3 ~ 2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them. 3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them. KJV

What started as a mountain retreat quickly changed as the glory of Jesus shone forth and Jesus was transformed right before the eyes of the disciples. Jesus took on an appearance more appropriate for the King of Glory than for a humble man. Mark did his best to describe for us what Jesus looked like – no doubt, through the eyes of Peter. Basically, Jesus’ whole appearance shone forth in glorious, bright light – his clothes became shining and whiter than anything seen on this earth. Some may believe this transfiguration as just a bright light shining on Jesus. But this wasn’t a light coming on Jesus from the outside. “The word transfigured describes a change on the outside that comes from the inside." When I got saved, I was gloriously changed from the inside out!

That is what happens to Christians who have invited the Lord Jesus to be their Saviour and are indwelled by the Holy Spirit. If we have accepted the Lord, His shining will display on our faces. He is the one that shines within us and displays that glory through our lives. I am thankful for this indwelling and the fact that my decision has forever secured me a place in Heaven. Have you made that decision? Are you confident that Heaven will be your final resting place? Make sure today. This was an exciting day - and it is even more exciting today for all Christians as we keep looking up awaiting the day God sends Jesus to call His bride Home!

Jesus displayed His glory as King over all God’s Kingdom, the disciples knew that Jesus knew what He was doing. If He was to suffer, be rejected and killed, He was still in control. Jesus also dramatically showed that cross bearers would be glory receivers. The goal isn’t the cross. The cross is the path to the goal, and the goal is the glory of God.

Where are you my friend in this journey we call life? What spiritual attachment do you have with Jesus? None? No matter how often people deny, or not believe. . . this time will come, and we must be ready before it is eternally to late! Please, get saved today!

HE CARES!

Do You Know HIM?

Lord, help us to be wise, studied up, aware, and faithful to You. Amen.

With love and prayers,
May we be your faithful Philippians 2:16 Missionaries?

Philippians 2:16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
