May 19 ~ Dr. Tom Milam He Leadeth Me Devotional

“We’re Not Ready Yet”
John 17:15

It is for sure that one of these days we’re going to be with Jesus, and not according to our timetable, but His. The Army of God here on earth will draw their gospel pistol for the last time, and I believe, very soon, we’ll pull our sword against the enemy just a few more days, and we will be privileged to hang it on the wall in Heaven’s Memorial for its soldiers of valor. One day soon we’ll be done with fighting the good fight of faith, the conflict will be over, and we’ll enter into the joys of the Lord.

It seems it would be better to be born again, and at that instant. Leave out and go to Heaven right then. We then wouldn’t have to worry about battles, suffering, heartache and troubles, we’d just go on home. But we’re left here to be cared for by the Father, until we accomplish all that He desires of His children. If we didn’t stay here in the flesh, others could not see the work in our lives by Jesus, and it is for our profit that we mature to a ripe full age, then our inheritance will be so much sweeter.

Many times I have faced troubles and problems that literally tore me apart, I must admit that I wanted to die, because I knew if I did, I would be seeing Jesus face to face and I wouldn’t have to suffer another trial of affliction. But it was selfish and I would have to repent. It was not longing for Christ that made me want to go, but my fleshly troubles I didn’t want to face. How do we feel when we are not under the pressure and heavy load? Now it is all- right for us to desire to go; But is it to escape our troubles or is it to glorify the Son of God as long as we can and then to go when it is time? He promised to keep us from evil! Amen!

“Patience”

May it be while we’re still down here,

that we glorify the Son of God;

Though conflict, suffering and dangers near,

let us with patience, this valley trod.

Weekly Memory Verses:  Romans 8:14-18

Romans 8:14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

15  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

May 12 ~ Dr. Tom Milam He Leadeth Me Devotional

“Knowing And Showing”
John 14:13-26

Jesus shows Himself and proves Himself to His people in many ways.  Of course, we have the scriptures and we, and as believers trust them to be the truth from God our Father. But even if we didn’t have the Scriptures, Christ has still proven through His people the truth by their experiences.

Jesus dwells in His own people and reveals Himself through them in their actions and definite devoted services. We proclaim with unadulterated ecstasy, that Jesus still lives, not only in our hearts by way of the Holy Spirit, but in very deed and truth. He shows His person through those that have accepted Him, trusted and firmly believe on Him for salvation and assurance. Many saints of God have given us glimpses of Heaven by living close to Jesus and dwelling near the cross.

When Gods people tell how Jesus dwells in them and tells of His blessings and workings in and through them, others can’t help but be touched by their influence.

Others will notice what effect Christ has had on us by our humility; we will brag on Jesus rather than ourselves. Mark the person that says he has acquired a certain amount of humility, because when you think you’ve attained it, you’ve lost it. (Psalm 138:6) Says, “Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.” Realizing Gods very near presence will bring joy and happiness; pleasures are abounding when we are devoted and fully submissive. And then we’ll find the Holy Walk; Christ has never been manifested in a person if there’s no holiness about him. Are you what you say you are, in thought and deed? (Galatians 6:7 - "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: . . .”

“Perfect”

For evil doing, there’s no respect,

God, will wicked works, for sure reject;

He’ll not cast down a perfect man,

But will through him, prove His perfect plan.

Weekly Memory Verses: 1 Peter 2:21

21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

April 12, 2023 ~ Linda K. Milam April Devotions: "The Good Shepherd"

And so, I continue. . .
That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works. Psalms 26:7

Ezekiel 34:14-15 ~ 14 I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel. 15 I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord GOD. KJV

Have you ever really considered the GOOD THINGS you have in your life. The Bible says in James 1:17  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.  We are truly blessed beyond measure. We have been waiting to share with you one of the greatest gifts, God has given us. Our new "dwelling place" here in Florida. Something we ALL prayed for, for months, and we will never have to worry about where we will serve from here in FL. Our "place" Is now a full reality! We have been "gifted" a beautiful 41-foot Motor Home. It is amazing how God's plan came to fruition. We are not to drive it as a normal motor home, it is parked, hooked up and livable for the long term. How gracious is our God? More than gracious. I'll share lots of pictures on FB. . . so watch for the post! Let me continue on with my thoughts on these verses.

Of all the gifts we have received from God, the greatest gift is His Son Jesus Christ, who died for us. My salvation, my husband, our ministries, my church (both here in FL and WV), our children, grandchildren, and now great-grandchildren; blessed gifts from God. Our possessions, or those things we call our own. All GOOD things come from God. They are His gifts to us in reward for our love and devotion to Him.

As God said in our verses today, HE WILL PROVIDE ALL to His children and they will be greatly blessed because of His Love and care for His sheep. Are you one of God's own? Maybe you say, "I have a lot of good things and I am not one of His own." Those good things will pass away, and without God the last thing you will receive from Him is told in this verse.

"Matthew 7:23  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

When He says this, you will be immediately cast out into hell for eternity, never to have opportunity to be saved again! Don't let this happen to you, please get saved today! Surrender your heart and soul to the One who created you, sustains your life, in the hope that you will call upon Him as Saviour before it is eternally to late. Our prayer is that many will come to the Lord and never have that worry ever again; will you go to heaven or hell?

HE CARES! Do You Know HIM?  Lord, help us to be wise, studied up, aware, and faithful to You. Amen.  With love and prayers, may we be your faithful Philippians 2:16 Missionaries?

Philippians 2:16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

April 4, 2023 ~ Linda K. Milam March Devotions: "The Good Shepherd"

And so, I continue. . .  That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works. Psalms 26:7

Psalms 78:70-72 ~ 70 He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds: 71 From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance. 72 So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.  KJV

God never intended to have a king rule over His chosen people. He was their KING, and Lord of Lords. Why would they want anyone else? You have to go back to Adam and Eve and when sin was introduced into our world. Why did they choose to disobey God and allow the evil one to tempt them to sin? Because in His great love for His people, He gave us a will to choose.  Adam and Eve made a bad decision, and it changed our entire world. God created us to PLEASE HIM, to obey Him was His first request! When they broke that trust, they started a catalyst of sin and deceit of which we are still paying for today.

When trust has been broken, it is hard to start over again. Maybe you had an experience with a spouse, a friend, a child. When the relationship becomes scarred with sin in the way of cheating or lying, it is very difficult to trust again. The only way I know of that would heal such wounds would be total trust in GOD FIRST. When we give love THROUGH the LORD it is perfect love; that is when you can really give a true love, for when love is given freely, and our faith is secure knowing that and believing in that love it is much more meaningful and valued.

When God brought David out of the sheepfolds, he had already proven his great love for God. He was a great and mighty caretaker of the sheep, even at his young age. God had a plan, and he has a plan for you as well. Continue to trust Him daily in your walk for Christ. Believe that even when we mess up, you can be loved by God as David was. Spurgeon said the following:

“David was upright before God, and never swerved in heart from the obedient worship of Jehovah. Whatever faults he had; he was unfeignedly sincere in his allegiance to Israel’s superior king; he shepherded for God with honest heart.” (Spurgeon)

Daved "never SWERVED IN HEART from the obedient worship of Jehovah"????  Really???  then Spurgeon recognizes Davids faults. If you have ever read anything of David you will kow that he was a cheater, wife stealer, murderer. . . great sins that affected not only himself, but those around him. He looked at Bathsheba, He longed for her, he had her husband murdered in battle. He had some faults. . . I would say so. But is he any different than us. We go along day by day by day and ignore the calling of God to come back to Him in totality. We play with church a little, we might listen to Gospel music on the radio, we might even pray over our meals . . . but that is not serving God with all of our hearts, and yet He still loves us! He deserves our total devotion.

I want to serve Him, be obedient, love Him with all my heart, and I can do that and so can you! There is no sin greater than the love of God. There is no spirit stronger that God in any way and if you want to be loosed from whatever has taken over your life and destroying you and those around you. . . sincerely with a broken heart, ask God to help you. He wants to, but He will not force you. That give of a will to choose! It can be our great joy, or lead us to destruction spiritually and physically.

If you have never asked God to help you, you will never know if He will or can, will you? Don't allow the devil who brought you to this place you are in to be your decision maker. His goal is to cause the Christian to fail and the sinner to never accept Jesus as their Saviour. Think about it. Who in their right mind would want to harm their people?  It isn't God! I'll quote John 3:16 again and again . . . John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The first step is to take Jesus as your Saviour. That permanent gift of salvation is offered to ALL. But today I want you to read verses 17-21 with John 3:16. His whole purpose was to save us from a devils hell!

17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19  And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20  For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21  But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Read it again; and Again, and Again! The Bible is God's record book of His love for us. He loves us. Be saved today - you will NEVER regret your decision, your choice of Jesus over the devil.

May the God of all creation give you strength, power, peace and may He ever be FIRST in our lives!

HE CARES! Do You Know HIM?  Lord, help us to be wise, studied up, aware, and faithful to You. Amen.  With love and prayers, may we be your faithful Philippians 2:16 Missionaries?

March 28 ~ Dr. Tom Milam He Leadeth Me Devotional

“Going Much Farther”

Philippians 2:5-8; Ephesians 3:17-21

Each one of us, in explaining love, can only tell of how it affects us. Love means many things to many different people. So therefore, to set down so many choice words for what love means would be shallow and disrespectful for what it really is. God has the only description of love, mainly His Son. This love goes beyond human understanding and comprehension, it is matchless, boundless and so vast that words cannot even skim the surface of such a great depth. How deep is love? It is measureless in our own estimation. To know anything about the love of Christ we must first know where it came from. It wasn’t just love sent down, it was God’s love, His own heart, the very essence of God. Christ is as much God as God is! Everything that was spoken into existence, Christ had a hand in it. He was God! And He was made man while still remaining God. He reigns supreme above all creatures and who is it that can tell of His majestic love? No one but Himself and the way that He proved it is unmistakable love.

Who is it among us worldlings, that can explain how far He came down to us? He reached much farther down than we could ever reach up. (Psalm 40:1-3). I was in a sewer of self-indulgence, and He reached right into the stench and filth of my life and delivered me from a sure hell and set me on the course to glory. He didn’t force Himself on me, but with a sweet gentle voice He spoke of true love to my heart and I could not resist His advances. A man come from heaven is a miracle in itself, but to willingly be a man that would come low enough to suffer, bleed, die and be acquainted with so much sorrow and pain is beyond comprehension and overwhelms the mind to near fainting.

 “He Gave All”

To suffer such agony, to endure such a death,

It’s shame and reproach willingly bear;

To be deserted by the Father, is a greater depth,

Than anything we could ever compare.

                                            ~ Tom Milam

Weekly Memory Verses:

Romans 8:24  For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

25  But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

26  ¶Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27  And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. KJV

March 7, 2023, ~ Linda K. Milam March Devotions: "First Mary, Then Martha"

And so, I continue. . . That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works. Psalms 26:7

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. KJV

Countries around the world are suffering because they do not hear God anymore. They are led by people who have one agenda, to suppress the good people and perpetrate their evil reigns upon those same people. It is believed that the prophet Ezra penned this book by the inspiration of God, and it was written around 430 B.C. It was written to emphasize the blessings of the righteous kings and to expose the sins of the wicked kings. Just what we are living in today. People worldwide have been deceived by a mass conglomeration of leaders to suppress right and good from the people and to promote "evil". History proves this has gone on since Adam and Eve, and if it were not for the fact that the Word of God will never go away, instead of statues this group would destroy our Bibles. How can we escape this madness?

Through the blood of Christ and as Christians, we will live eternally with the Heavenly Father one day - and God tells us here, that if we will humble ourselves and seek Him in prayer, avoid all the wickedness of this world, God will hear our prayers, He will forgive sin and will heal our land. That is the only way folks. We are still alive, and the devil still rules over the world as the Prince of the power of air and people are still disobedient to God and following after the devil. We must be wise enough as Christians to recognize true evil and shun the devil with all that is within us, and we can do this with filling and power of the Holy Spirit.

But always know, the devil is at our heals. It is imperative that you do all you know to do to avoid his claws of wickedness. Ephesians 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Follow After Christ Aways!

March 2 ~ Dr. Tom Milam He Leadeth Me Devotional

 “Learning From The Devil”

I Peter 5:8

We all would like to get rid of the Devil, but we can’t, because where God is in our lives, he is very present also. If he then is so present with us, then we should take every advantage to learn all we can from him to keep from falling into his traps. In one particular instance the children of Israel went down to their enemy, the Philistines, to sharpen their tools that they might do their work. (I Samuel 13:20).

Let us take a close look at how we might learn from our enemy, how to better equip ourselves against him. First, let’s look at our zeal, is it for knowledge of the Word of God that we might learn to serve Him better? Or is it more on a personal level, of how we can gain from it, or show others what zeal we have for impression alone? This is one of the enemy’s tricks. Our zeal should be tempered with the Holy Spirit that will guide us to brag on Jesus and not what we’ve done. Secondly, look how devoted the Devil’s followers are, the deceivers, the cults and the world lovers. They will serve their idols, no matter what. Shouldn’t we serve our God, with this same devotedness? After all, He gave us eternal life, and the Devil offers only temporary pleasures and then eternal damnation. The Devil is very patient, and his followers are willing self- sacrificers; They persevere and let nothing stand in their way; their energy is like none other; they are daring, and unification is their mainstay. While we as believers allow division among ourselves to hinder our service and hardly ever come into unity, as we are led and even commanded to do so. We can learn from the devil, how to draw closer to God and be more dedicated in Gods service.

“Seeking”

Seeking whom he may devour,

The devil makes a mess;

But we are good Samaritans,

Seeking whom we may bless.

Weekly Memory Verses: Romans 1:14-17

Romans 1:14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise. 15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

February 25 ~ Dr. Tom Milam He Leadeth Me Devotional

 “A Storm Is Coming!”

Matthew 3:7

I spent a sixteen-month tour in Korea when I was in the Army in 1961- 1962. I remember anticipating the literal weeks of rain that the Monsoons brought in, day and night. I had never seen so much mud and water for the better part of three months. And then the weather would go from one extreme to the other. The winter came and I had never experienced such cold, and then when spring and summer came, heat exhaustion and heat stroke brought down many of us, it is not a pleasant experience to go through.

On the way back from my tour of duty, we stopped in Japan for a 24 hour period, it was the month of August, typhoon season, and sure enough, leaving out of the Bay of Japan from Yokohama, we headed straight for a curtain of blackness about a day out in the sea; I had never seen such a hard rain and wind. The waves began to get bigger and stronger, the ship began to make weird noises, it would actually go completely under water, it would roll, and pitch and I’ll never forget praying, though I was lost, God help me get through this and I’ll do anything you want. But when things smoothed out, I forgot all about the promises to be a better person and so on. Friend, if you are lost or your life is not what it should be for Christ, you are headed for a storm. Repent quickly, for God’s wrath is riding behind His mercy, the tempest will rage, the flood of fire is coming upon the lost that have rejected Him; Look about you, the wind is howling, the rain is just over the horizon, flood gates will soon break forth with damning destruction. O sinner, come in before the storm, because after it begins, no mercy is extended.

“Where”

Where, O sinner, will you hide your head?

Where on earth will you flee?

The saints will fly, the storm will rage,

And the sinner will find no mercy.

                        ~Tom Milam

Bible Reading Schedule: Numbers 26-27

Weekly Memory Verses: II Timothy 2:11-15

2 Timothy 2:11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: 12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: 13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself. 14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

February 17, 2023 ~ Linda K. Milam February Devotions: "Compassion"

And so, I continue. . .That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works.  Psalms 26:7 KJV

Mark  5:18-20 ~ 18 And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him. 19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. 20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel. KJV

O that the compassion of the Lord would be ours when it comes to those who are "not the same" as us. People who are down and out, hooked on drugs, alcohol, in the depravity of horrible sin. O that we might see them as Jesus did; that we might see their SOUL and not their sin! God help us to have a Christlike compassion and a humble desire to be used by God as soulwinners. May He give us strength, power, and boldness to reach ALL the unsaved, backslid, and one nearest to Hell from God folks.

This man was possessed by the devil and needed a touch from heaven. Jesus did not reject him, he rather cast out the devil and his demons from the man and sent him off with a mission. Tell others of the ". . .great things the Lord hath done for thee, . . ."  That is OUR commission to go and tell. Not to just a select group, but to all who will listen - and when they won't "listen" leave a Gospel Tract! Point them to a good Bible Believing, preaching church!

Maybe you are reading this, and you are not saved, or you need a healing touch from heaven. Go back to "The Well" of living water, the Lord Jesus Christ. He is waiting for you and wants you to have all that heaven holds.

In the name of Jesus, may we be HIS emissaries and used by Him to help others.
