“Going Much Farther”
Philippians 2:5-8; Ephesians 3:17-21
Each one of us, in explaining love, can only tell of how it affects us. Love means many things to many different people. So therefore, to set down so many choice words for what love means would be shallow and disrespectful for what it really is. God has the only description of love, mainly His Son. This love goes beyond human understanding and comprehension, it is matchless, boundless and so vast that words cannot even skim the surface of such a great depth. How deep is love? It is measureless in our own estimation. To know anything about the love of Christ we must first know where it came from. It wasn’t just love sent down, it was God’s love, His own heart, the very essence of God. Christ is as much God as God is! Everything that was spoken into existence, Christ had a hand in it. He was God! And He was made man while still remaining God. He reigns supreme above all creatures and who is it that can tell of His majestic love? No one but Himself and the way that He proved it is unmistakable love.
Who is it among us worldlings, that can explain how far He came down to us? He reached much farther down than we could ever reach up. (Psalm 40:1-3). I was in a sewer of self-indulgence, and He reached right into the stench and filth of my life and delivered me from a sure hell and set me on the course to glory. He didn’t force Himself on me, but with a sweet gentle voice He spoke of true love to my heart and I could not resist His advances. A man come from heaven is a miracle in itself, but to willingly be a man that would come low enough to suffer, bleed, die and be acquainted with so much sorrow and pain is beyond comprehension and overwhelms the mind to near fainting.
“He Gave All”
To suffer such agony, to endure such a death,
It’s shame and reproach willingly bear;
To be deserted by the Father, is a greater depth,
Than anything we could ever compare.

Bible Reading Schedule: Judges 15-17
Weekly Memory Verses:
Romans 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26 ¶Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. KJV
