“In Agony, Alone”
Luke 22:44
How many of us have ever prayed until our sweat fell upon the ground for sin and what it does to us? I wonder if we would ever be that caring and concerned about another soul as Jesus was? Could we even pray one hour in one day, especially at such a trying time as it was? Can you see now some of the agony that He bore for us?
It was the power of love that drove Him to the garden, and to the ground; that made Him strain so in heart agony that blood oozed from His pores, to mingle with the sweat from a spiritual and physical struggle that none but the God-man could know. The Lord thought not of Himself through this trial, but He saw me, in my sins, lost and undone and He willingly poured Himself out on the ground, to start the blood-path to the cross. Oh, can you see the offering that He made for men? Can you see the intensity of the wrestling that He did for us? Will we ever look deep enough to hear Him speak through His suffering for us? Would we be willing to suffer a little for His cause to assimilate the suffering that He bore for us? Could we resist temptation long enough to lay in agony, that another might know the touch of God? “Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.” (Hebrews 12:4) Christ willingly and literally shed His blood there in the garden and yielded not to the temptation of the flesh.
“Father Knows”
Yield to Him and do Gods will,
The Father knows what’s best
Empty up and you He’ll fill,
And answer your every request;
How much to give and how to live,
I leave that up to Him,
I plead my case, leaning on grace,
And my path will never grow dim.

Romans 5:1-5 ~ 1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
