March 9 ~ Dr. Tom Milam He Leadeth Me Devotional

“Seeking The Face Of God!”

II Chronicles 7:14; Song of Solomon 5:16

Have you ever looked into the face of God from the very depth of your heart? Have you looked at His ears and realized what He hears? He hears those that use His name in vain, the blasphemer, He makes a record of it. He hears the cry of little children in the days of their abuse and neglect. He hears the sincere cry of the repentant one, and the cries of the confused, downhearted and troubled ones. His ears are a welcome sight to behold, and a receiver to understand our cries. Look at His lips, are they not lovely? Listen as they speak words of comfort, do they not rend your heart and cause it to burn within you to want to love Him more as He walks with you through your every trial? Look into His eyes, do they not see the very soul of man? And there is no escape from the stare of the most High as His look draws us to bow. See His eyes in their penetrating all lovely compassion, as He weeps with His child during chastening and application of the soothing ointment of His warm touch for healing. Look at His whole head, it is precious and forever lovely, and His thoughts I hunger to have; Think of it my friend, to have the mind of Christ? Is it not wonderful to adore His face and be touched by His affection? Let us anoint His face with the oil of fervent love and adore the features of His countenance. Seek His face to imitate it in holiness and a willingness to have a character such as His. For in Him is all perfection, in us are spots and wrinkles. It is His loveliness we long to be like, in looks, thoughts and deeds. Seek His face in its altogether loveliness.

“Never”

His face is like gold, without a mixture,

His countenance lovely and desired,

By faith do look on this beautiful picture,

And your soul will never be mired.

Daily Jewel:

“Seek His face in its altogether loveliness.”

Bible Reading Schedule: Deuteronomy 24-27

Weekly Memory Verses: 1 Thessalonians 5:5-10

1 Thessalonians 5:5-10 ~ 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
