“A False Sense Of Security”
Psalm 30:6
Be careful about making the statement, “I shall never be moved,” because we are yet worldly, we are flesh. Our flesh will fail us in a time when we think it should surely hold up.
Let a man have a job where the money is rolling in and everything he touches turns to gold. May the weather be to his favor year after year, may his crops give great increase in abundance. Let his success be noted by his peers as a wise master builder in a world of shaky ground. May that man never know an unhealthy day; the doctor’s office or hospital, he never visits. This man we speak of is happy in heart, joy fills his eyes with contentment. He lays back for the easy life, nothing seems to bother him, his state is that of near envy from others. He might even be living so close to the cross, that we would say that he is probably the best Christian that we’ve ever seen. But a life lived in probability, means that it will become a life taken for granted and will wind up dead from presumption. Over confidence will be the death of even the best Christian, that ever breathed a breath.
Many have made the bold statement, “I shall never be moved,” David did, he walked in the smooth places for a while, but he never realized the greatness of God, nor his keeping power until things got rough. Thank God for the rough places! If we continually slept with contentment and prosperity; if there were never any clouds or rain, we could never enjoy the sunshine or rainbow and our prosperity would keep us numb to our responsibilities as a seed sower; planting that others might grow; This is essential to Spiritual Contentment.
“Secure”
Afflictions come, and change we must,
The loss of things means in Him we more trust.
If not Your chastening upon me be;
Then worldly prosperity would be my security.

Weekly Memory Verses: 1 Thessalonians 5:5-10
1 Thessalonians 5:5-10 ~ 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
