“Loving Kindness”
Luke 15:20; Jeremiah 31:3
Many people wonder why God doesn’t automatically save everyone, without any hassle, but sends law and judgement to us to get us to turn to Christ. And then it is His loving kindness that seals the matter. This is what caused the prodigal to sense his need, and his father saw him yet a great way off and ran to his son, because he loved him. He was looking for him the whole time he was gone into the far country. It was the father's loving kindness that made him run to his son and it was that same loving kindness that drew the son back to his father.
The law came to our hearts door and said things are not in balance, you are blind, destitute, wretched and lost, and we fought off His advances, and told Him that we would clean ourselves up and clear our gnawing conscience. Have you ever tried to force help on an injured animal? He’ll bite you, though your intentions are to bring help. The law shows us what we need but it is the grace of loving kindness that meets a man that’s on his knees in repentance.
God knocks at our heart's door, not hard enough to knock it down, but with gentleness that we might step through and receive His loving kindness. I could not think of turning Him down that night that I yielded to His knock, I gladly said, come in! Come in! You have drawn me with your loving kindness.
The pierced hands of Christ reached farther down than the arm of the law and does what it could not do, save to the uttermost.
“Covered”
The law points out our faults,
and tells us what to do;
But love hides them all,
and saves me and you.

Weekly Memory Verses: Romans 1:14-17
Romans 1:14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise. 15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
