March 30 ~ Dr. Tom Milam He Leadeth Me Devotional

 “Standing With Sinners”

I Timothy 2:6; II Corinthians 5:17; I John 2:1-2; Isaiah 53:12

Jesus is such an advocate that when we are brought to the devil's courtroom, He not only stands with us, He stands for us. The world has us on trial and will do anything to convict us of crimes committed against what is normal or seemingly put us on the spot to admit failure, in that we could never be religious enough to stand on our own in the court of God. We must be identified with our counselor when He stands in for us at the trial, we must trust Him to represent us as we have made it well known that we stand for Him, or we wouldn’t be on trial in the first place.

When Jesus stands for us He presents our case with the opening statements being; “since you have accused my client, here is my defense;" Jesus points to His riven hands, His shed blood and words such as, “Be gracious unto him, deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.” (Job 33:24) Jesus was numbered with us sinners and transgressors that we could feel ourselves drawn to him, not just in our head but our hearts. We therefore are not afraid of one that stands in the same crowd as we do. That’s more proof that we can go to Him boldly with our guilt and shame and not fear condemnation from Him.

A Holy Saviour standing with guilty sinners, He is listed on the indictment with us, the instant He does this, the Judge says, let them go, I cannot hold them on charges where the ransom is paid.

“No Indictment”

He took all, my misery and sins,

and laid them before the Judge.

My accusers said, “He must be condemned.”

In their defense they would not budge.

But Jesus showed His wounds to them,

and they could not indict for the blood.

Daily Jewel:

“....He not only stands with us, He stands for us.....”

Bible Reading Schedule: Judges 20-21

Weekly Memory Verses:

Romans 8:24  For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

25  But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

26  ¶Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27  And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. KJV
