March 6 ~ Dr. Tom Milam He Leadeth Me Devotional

Pipestem WV State Parks
“Possessor Or Professor”

John 3:7, 8

Many people that say they are a Christian, surely are not, because the fruit that follows their profession proves there has been no regeneration. Salvation is a supernatural work of God, and it will blossom forth as to what it is. A born again believers' body will change in its activity, because his mind has been changed by a heart change. (II Corinthians 5:17). I talked to a man last night whose mother had recently passed away and his heart is very tender and receptive. He said that he was trying his best to be saved, he said, “I’m trying to work my way into it and before long I’ll be able to make a complete change.” I of course informed him that what he was experiencing was the convicting of the Holy Spirit and that his own “trying” to get to a certain place in thinking or merits would be a great disappointment. While the Holy Spirit was dealing with him, I tried to convince him that Jesus has already done everything that needs to be done, and that he needed to believe in the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ and ask for forgiveness, repent of his sins and follow Jesus. Sad to say I could not convince him to yield to the wooing of the Holy Spirit. He heard the Word of God, he was enlightened by the Holy Spirit as to what he needed most, but he was not hungry enough to eat, he is only tasting.

A man must be born again first, and then he’ll take on a new nature, not a changed name or a changed mind, but a complete, new regenerated person, a new man in Jesus Christ. If a man remains unregenerated, he is yet unsaved, unpardoned, standing without God, and therefore having no hope. You must be born again.

On the road of Holiness, I’ve found to trod;

I’ve been made clean from sin and strife,

I’ve been born again, I have eternal life.

Daily Jewel:

“Salvation is a supernatural work of God,

 and it will blossom forth as to what it is.”

Bible Reading Schedule: Deuteronomy 14-16

Weekly Memory Verses: 1 Thessalonians 5:5-10

1 Thessalonians 5:5-10 ~ 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
