March 4 ~ Dr. Tom Milam He Leadeth Me Devotional

“Ask, And Be Filled”

Ephesians 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Have you been thinking lately, I should be bearing fruit, but I am not? Are you living with something you know you should have victory in, but do not have? You are missing God’s best for your life; He has something for you, and He delights in giving it to you. And this is the simplest way I know   to receive it from Him:

(1) Lay your body down before Him, you first must be willing to be emptied before God can ever fill you. Are you willing to let Him have you? (Romans 12:1,2 ~ 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.) Will you present your total physical, mental and spiritual body to Him? With its personality, it’s love processes and all of your ambitions; in other words, your all?

(2) The next thing is to simply ask, (Matthew 7:7,8 7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.) (Luke 11:9-11 ~ 9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. 10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?If God says we can ask, then why not take Him up on it? Asking in obedience, is receiving in abundance - The greater spiritual life.

(3) This third thing we see is found in (Acts 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.). God gives His Holy Spirit freely to them that obey Him. The scripture teaches us how to live, obey them without controversy and God will reveal His truths to you day by day as you are willing to learn. God knows your capacity of learning and will gently teach you progressively. (4) The next thing is to have faith; (Galatians 3:2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

We receive the Holy Spirit by faith as we receive salvation by faith. He is a gift from God to give us power and strength and not by some earth-shaking ecstatic experience, He simply comes in to rule and overtake the body, mind and spirit. He first comes in at conversion, and then time after time He comes in, progressively, as we yield to Him in obedience, by faith and asking. Does He fully possess you yet, that you daily give Him more room to operate in you and through you? Does He possess your mind, heart, personality- your whole life? Have you made yourself Gods dwelling place? Are you saved and willing to be filled?

“No Sin Allowed”

All of God, not just part, I have in me today,

I must be careful not to crowd Him,

with my Own pernicious ways.

Daily Jewel:

  “Have you made yourself Gods dwelling place?”

 Bible Reading Schedule: Deuteronomy 8-10

Weekly Memory Verses: Romans 1:14-17

Romans 1:14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise. 15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
