“Abiding In Christ”
John 15:4
When I think of abiding in Christ, two thoughts immediately come to mind: Fellowship, (I John 1:3) means we have things in common and that we are devoted to that same thinking. Secondly, I see Communion, (I Corinthians 10:16); In order to drink of Jesus and eat of Jesus, we must abide in Him, the
branches cannot bear without sap from the source; “Our life is hid with Christ in God.”
To grow and be productive, we must feed from the Vine; (Jesus) We must allow Him to think His thoughts in us; Form His purpose in us; Feel His emotions in us; Feel His affections in us; We will then attain that which we seek from God. We will understand abiding, when we see that our desires are no longer ours, but Christ’s. We will understand praying when we know that our prayers are actually His, it is Him praying in us! Remember, He must be the Lord, the Master; The Head of our lives. So then, all we have to do is to abide, (continue) in Christ by: Renouncing self-life; Let our thoughts be His; Our purposes be His; All of our desires be His; Our affections centered upon Him, And continue to look to Jesus for these things in us.
The branches abiding in the Vine, is God’s Covenant, that means that: All the things we call ours, all comforts, all mercies, all blessings, all His grace, and all of His power that flows from the source, is all ours by His wonderful promise.
“Done Well”
To live a fruitful life unspotted.
I must abide in love undaunted.
The key to unspeakable joy, obey
And then the well done, we will hear Him say!

Weekly Memory Verses: II Timothy 2:11-15
2 Timothy 2:11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: 12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: 13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself. 14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
