February 7 ~ Dr. Tom Milam He Leadeth Me Devotional

“We’ll Move No More”

Hebrews 11:10

While passing through this lifespan, it is filled with woes and worries, trials and tribulations, suffering and sadness; But our hope is laid up higher, to a prepared place, a city not made with human hands. The builder is God Himself; this will be the last move we’ll make.

Down here I have moved many times, some were quite satisfactory while others were sometimes quite miserable before I learned something about contentment and the providential hand of God on my life. One day we’ll move out for the last time; God will say, come up higher. It is time to rest, your labors are ended. Our last journey will separate us from our friends, our family and the mortal life that we once knew. Most of us will have your promise that you’ll be there to take us safely home to our final abode. Glory is on the other side of the river, and we’ve got to see only glimpses of that heavenly land through the scriptures and self-experiences.

We can go forward without fear, knowing that Christ suffered deaths valley and we shall follow with great expectation, that on the other side is bliss, joy, and happiness. We are going to the Fathers house, never more to roam-- Jesus is there--in that city of life forever. Where we will dwell with our Saviour, our adored one, with our people, in the presence of God.

“From This To Bliss”

May I mediate day and night,

Of Heavens graces, yet out of sight;

Press on friend the toiling will pass,

The tears will dry when you see Home at last,

We will arise, and from a world like this,

We’ll gladly trade it all, for a Heaven of bliss.
