February 2 ~ Dr. Tom Milam He Leadeth Me Devotional

“Forgiven”

Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14; Hebrews 9:22

No sin, even under Jewish Law, has ever been removed, without shedding of blood in sacrificial death. And for sure no sin, in any lifetime, can be pardoned, without being atoned for. Friend, our hope is in Christ and Him alone. The blood applied, is the remedy for sin, no other way can we be forgiven. This is the only way to salvation; we need Jesus at the point of convicting conversion, and we need Him now in our walk of the redeemed life. Many people are religious to works and can’t understand our excitement about being totally forgiven and walking in the Christ-life. Religion brings comfort, only in this life it will only do while others are looking, and self-justification is allowed to operate. Our salvation, deliverance, is His salvation.

Our justification is totally in Jesus and nothing else. Works, ceremonies, prayers and righteous living is to no avail in gaining access to Christ and His Holiness. You must be born again, “by the blood of the crucified Lamb.” Having your conscience stirred is not salvation, feelings cannot be depended upon, signs and evidence cannot be the remedies for self-righteousness, guilt and sin. The laying of ourselves out before Him, the Saviour that suffered and is now interceding, and receiving the Holy Spirit of promise is the only method of true forgiveness and peace. As the blood is the life-source of the body, so is the blood of Christ the “Life thereof”, of the redeemed. The blood of Christ is our faith-life, our joy, our comfort and every other heavenly grace.

“Christ Is Forgiving”

Forgiven by His Holy work,

Nothing else will do;

Don’t give up, be on alert,

Christ is hope for you
