 “You Know

(Proverbs 3:13) 05/29/03 

Published in Dr. Milam's book,

"Beside Still Waters"

1) Just as they are he loves them so

They are his children, you know 

2) He cares enough to give his best

Himself and his life to show, 

3) When trouble comes- there he is,

To help in their grief and woe: 

4) He’ll be there through thick and

Thin- he’s simply their father, you know. 

5) He’s their counselor, when wisdom they need and challenges them to grow.

6) His rejoicing in their successes. Is like a river that flows. 

7) He forgives their many mistakes, and tells them- it’ll make you grow. 

8) Then he prays and weeps for them;

Because he’s their father you know.

9) He knows his strength comes from above;

Not from sources below.

 

10) To fear the Lord is wisdom and Knowledge;

May it cover you, and lovingly glow.

 

11) The right kind of father is full of mercy; Of God’s grace he’ll heed and bestow 

12) A heart of peace is filled with love he cares- he’s your father you know.
