April 28, 2023 ~ LKMilam April Devotions: "The Good Shepherd"

 And so, I continue. . .
That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works. Psalms 26:7

Hebrews 13:20-21 ~ 20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. KJV

When Jesus shed His precious blood on the cross, He made it possible for all men to be saved by grace. His grace is for all and everlasting. He died, was raised from the dead, and is OUR GREAT ". . . shepherd of the sheep, . . ."  Because of this sacrifice, and my decision to believe, trust, accept Him as my Saviour, He gives me the ability ". . . to do his will, . . ." None of us could perform His perfect will without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. By the sacrifice of the Son of God, and the promise of the comforter, (The Holy Spirit) we can never be alone again!  Are you lonely, lost, without God, wandering in this great world of which is a wilderness and a temporary dwelling for all of us? Would you like to have that perfect peace that I have? You can! And when you accept Jesus as your Saviour, and the Holy Spirit indwells you, He will give you the peace and comfort you so desperately crave.

It is yours for the asking! Jesus came to save "whosover will" ~ that does not just mean the Jews, it means "whosoever" will. Come to the Lord today, admit you are a sinner, ask Him to forgive you of your sins and come into your heart and save you! When you do, your life will never be the same again. You will be saved and have that perfect peace I have!

HE CARES! Lost person, Do You Want to Know HIM?  Lord, help us to be wise, studied up, aware, and faithful to You. Amen.  With love and prayers, may we be your faithful Philippians 2:16 Missionaries?

Philippians 2:16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

Listen to Bro. Tom on www.wbofradio.com "The Jewel For The Day" program, every Monday - Friday at 6am and 2pm EST.

In the name of Jesus, may we be HIS emissaries and used by Him to help others.

May 4 ~ Dr. Tom Milam He Leadeth Me Devotional

 “Are My Things Idols?”
Jeremiah 41:20; Romans 1-3

One of man's greatest sins is worshipping too many things, which is idolatry. And we that are saved have the same tendencies as they that are idolators. They worship gods of stone and wood in other countries, here in America, many worship things, such as houses, places and recreation, and sports. Now these in themselves do not seem to be too bad, because we’ve convinced ourselves that we deserve this, since we have worked so hard to attain it.  But the problem is all of this is the indulging of self, which in God’s eyes is the great sin of idolatry. If self is allowed to dominate, then we as believers in God, have been duped by the devil and He is accomplishing through us what he has wanted all along, to make God appear to look bad in the eyes of the needy and the depraved.

Look how America has spoiled her children, this grieves God, because it is idolatry. Many  of Americas children have become a menace to all society and a double curse to their parents and also to themselves. Christian parents have decided to sleep in beds with stones, ignoring vainness in non-discipline. We pity those that bow to nature, and gods of inanimate objects and then we justify ourselves as we worship the god of flesh and pleasure. Now we can see why we are cursed with the sins of pornography, drugs, drink, and abusers of mankind. We are in worse shape than the heathen that bows to a false god; Because we forsake our living God and turn to things that only satisfy the flesh.  We need a revival of forsaking our idols.

“Do You Know?”

The heathen bows to, he knows not what,

And we turn away from who we know we’ve got.

                                ~Tom Milam

Daily Jewel:

“we justify ourselves as we worship the god of flesh and pleasure”

Bible Reading Schedule: II Kings 9-10

Weekly Memory Verses: Psalms 23:1-6

Psalms 23:1  A Psalm of David.>> The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3  He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5  Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

March 29, 2023 ~ Linda K. Milam March Devotions: "First Mary, Then Martha"

And so, I continue. . .
That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works. Psalms 26:7

Ephesians 5:15-17 ~ 15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. KJV

Paul, while in prison, is writing to the Ephesians dealing with topics at the very core of what it means to be a Christian—both in faith and in practice—regardless of any particular problem in the community. Paul wants the church to understand what the will of the Lord is: This is what real wisdom is. It is the contrast to being unwise. Our main understanding of the will of the Lord comes from a good knowledge of His Word. it is walking in the light, which means walking in wisdom. If you want to grow as a Christian and gain knowledge of the things of God, use His personal letter to each of us, the Word of God; the Bible, to gain knowledge!

We see foolish people all around us, don't we? Not being judgmental, but people who have no clue of what a Christian is. Some even call themselves Christians, but they are unlearned, never taught, and don't want to receive God's Word or to hear anything at all about the Lord. They are living their lives as if there were no God in Heaven, as if their lives were the only lives that have any importance. Many may know of God, but they have never made any type of profession that He is our Holy God and that He was responsible for all creation.

Our hearts are broken, and we are praying for the folks killed in Nashville. The criminal that took it upon herself to kill and destroy the precious lives of these 6 people, had no regard for those lives or her own. It wasn't the weapons used, it was the heart full of sin and degradation and the thought that if she were to live AND die in this misery, she would take others with her. Why? Did we fail as a nation? As a local community? As a Christian? There are many things we will never control, but one thing I CAN DO is share the Gospel with everyone. Had this young lady heard the true Gospel and rejected God? When the Word of God is shared, that is when we gain WISDOM. When people hear of the Lord God and His Son, it is information that is more powerful than satan himself. It will change lives, but people must hear it, read it, understand it, and accept it. It is their choice.

God did not design us to be evil. That came from his most favored fallen angel who thought he was over and above God, Lucifer. He convinced other angels of that as well. God expelled them from heaven and their final destination is a burning lake of fire, HELL. If he could convince angels of heaven to turn their backs on God, why would we even dare to think that he would not do the same to us. His power on earth is great, but my God is greater! If you have never heard, read, or obtained the knowledge of salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord and His blood shed on Calvary - please listen and read! I can't quote it enough, John 3:16 "John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Every one of us has the right to make a decision. God did not take that away from us ever, and He will never ever kick down the door of our hearts so that we can receive Jesus and the Holy Spirit. This must be done by our own desire to get right with God and to take Jesus as our Saviour. It is likely that the person who took those precious lives heard the truth of the Word of God but rejected Him. She attended a Christian School - yet she most likely never followed the LORD in salvation. But we will never know till Heaven!

How about you? Have you heard the Gospel and never made a personal decision to take Him as your Saviour? Have you rejected the fact that God made a way for us to be saved from the devils hell? Can you say in your heart I remember that day I asked Jesus to save me, come into my heart and take me to heaven with Him one day? Do you? Religion will NOT save you! You can belong to every church denomination in the world, but that won't save you! Don't take lightly the Word of God. Gain Godly wisdom, read, study, grow in the Lord. He is waiting, but time really is running out. Don't wait until it is ETERNALLY to late to be saved! Get saved, make sure your family is saved, and tell others about Jesus. This is the will of God, that all might be saved. Some won't be, those who have already died rejecting Jesus, are already destined for hell.  Don't let that happen to you and yours. Keep looking up, He is coming soon! Get ready!

May the God of all creation give you strength, power, peace and may He ever be FIRST in our lives!

HE CARES! Do You Know HIM?  Lord, help us to be wise, studied up, aware, and faithful to You. Amen.  With love and prayers, may we be your faithful Philippians 2:16 Missionaries?

March 8 ~ Dr. Tom Milam He Leadeth Me Devotional

 “A Soldier Of The Cross”

Acts 14:22; Psalm 30:5

Someone came to me not to long ago and ask me to pray for them because they were going through a trial, and they felt God was chastening them. I said, I will not; I will not pray that God lift his correction nor lessen His trial of direction. The man was about to be angry with me until I explained what the Bible shows about the people of God all down through the line of believers.

God never intended for all his people to be untried, trials are part of the Christian walk. Trials are ordained to have their seasons as well as all the other things that God has created and ordained. Trials are as sure as the sun rising and setting from east to west, or the moon glowing from the heaven by night and the stars that have been placed in their sockets, so are our trials set. Everything has its season and its place, especially the trials of good men, he could not be what he is without troubles. Jesus suffered trials and trouble. So, we should be very disappointed if we don’t have the same. Look at those other than Christ that went through trials before us, the history of the church and beyond, to men like Moses, Abraham - how do you think Abraham got to be called the “Father of the Faithful”, it was by trial. Look at the Apostles, Prophets, those that were martyrs for the cause of right. God made them to pass through fires of affliction. God ordained it of old, that the cross of trouble would be the believer's lot. We become vessels of honor by traveling this way, because our Lord has been this way before us, and we can be assured that His presence is with us, he sympathizes with us, His grace supports us, and His example teaches us to learn to endure hardness as a soldier.

“No Looking Back”

The road to Heaven is by a cross,

A way of suffering you see;

A soldier with honor, is one that will suffer,

and from trouble will not flee.

                        ~ Tom Milam

Daily Jewel:

“...we can be assured that his presence is with us...”

Bible Reading Schedule: Deuteronomy 21-23

Weekly Memory Verses: 1 Thessalonians 5:5-10

1 Thessalonians 5:5-10 ~ 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

With love and prayers, may we be your faithful Philippians 2:16 Missionaries?

February 17 ~ Dr. Tom Milam He Leadeth Me Devotional

“Dwelling At The Well”

John 4:14

During trouble and trials, we find ourselves going to the well to draw out of desperation, we’ve tried everything to find a solution to the problem, and finally go to the well to stay awhile. It is good and it is right to go to the well when we are burdened and in despair; But during the good times of life, we find ourselves just casually visiting the well, as if we don’t need it so much or we don’t really have the time to visit often or stay longer than what’s necessary to get our needs met.

When we only cry out to God when we’re in trouble we’ll never know Gods complete will for our lives; we will surely miss Gods best. When your desire is to dwell close to the well while in trouble and stray away in prosperity, you are not committed to God and will continually stay weak and undernourished.

Isaac dwelt at the well of God and made it his constant source of supply, whether things were good or bad. (Genesis 25:11) We should feel at home by the well, we should show reverence for it, our spirit should hunger to be there, and it should be a much familiar place. We, as believers, should want to dwell where God is, because on our own, we are defenseless and wide open to attack.

Let’s learn to live in the presence of the living God and you’ll have the living well. Happy is the person that dwells at the well of God, it never fails, never goes dry and gives us opportunity to help someone else while we are there.

“Well Living”

Dwell at the well and find fellowship sweet,

stay away long and disaster you’ll meet.

Come, leave your pots and stay a spell,

You can surely be filled,

then go away with the well.

                                                -Tom Milam

February 9, 2023 ~ Linda K. Milam February Devotions: "Compassion"

And so, I continue. . .
That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works.

Psalms 26:7 KJV

Psalms 147:2-3 ~ 2 The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel. 3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. KJV

This entire Psalm is all about praising the LORD God for all of His wonderful blessings. this morning, focusing on verses 2 and 3, we find a couple of reasons why we should praise Him. For the chosen ones at that time, He had built Jerusalem again, and all those that were outcast, He healed their broken hearts and bodies. In other words, He had a great compassion for these types of people.  The Psalm only has 20 verses, and I encourage you to read it all. God wants to bless us. We just need to genuinely serve Him will all of our hearts and all of our souls.

I want to do that. It is harder today than it was 50 years ago physically. Our day starts around 5:30-6am in the morning with prayer, devotions, study and preparation for the day. Many nights we do not lay down until midnight, after we have spent a few hours at our daughters home as needed. That makes an especially long day for "God's Old Soldiers". We thank Him daily for His strength and power not only in our spiritual lives, but also in our physical bodies. As He provides, we carry on. We just take one step at a time, and He gives grace and mercy. We give Him all the honor and glory for any task we finish, and for the new ones we face.

We could use more help in the print shop. How does He resolve this? Bro. Wayne (slowing down at 91) Miss Shirley and Miss Elaine both in their 70's, can work circles around many young people. They are a huge blessing, and as the ladies finish up the recent order for 100,000 tracts in a week or so, they are already asking for more work. Every morning Bro. Wayne can walk in that back door, is a good day! His first question what do you need done first. (He only wants to know ONE THING at a time.)

We thank the LORD for His provision by providing volunteers. Then this week, Aubree (our youngest granddaughter and caregiver of our daughter Lita) came in for just 3 hours and it was unbelievable what she was able to finish for us. I pray we can find a few more just like her. She lifted boxes and saved her Papa's shoulder, moved the auto coiler which weighs around 300 pounds, with the added help of furniture sliders, finished punching an entire table of books before we took her home. These are provisions God gave us this week in the Print Shop alone in the way of workers! Blessed.

But all of this is because of His love and compassion for us. At 79 and 72, what keeps us going is HIM. I can't even tell you how many times people say, how do you do all that you do and still be upright! LOL God provides strength and power for the body and soul. It is all I can tell them. He loves His children, all of His children, Jew and Gentile!  Are you one of His? That is the first place to start. John 3:7 "Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." If you are not saved, be saved immediately. You don't have to wait to go to church or be at an altar to be saved! You are the one He wants to save right now; and the altar is where you are right now reading this. Surrender your soul and heart to Jesus, He loved you so much that He died for you. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Are you at a place in your life where you just don't know what to do! Get saved, He will lead, guide, and direct your life. He will send just the right people to ease your problems. I know. Miss Shirley, Miss Elaine, Aubree - blessings sent by God!

Give Him all praise, honor and glory for everything He does in your life.

HE CARES! Do You Know HIM?  Lord, help us to be wise, studied up, aware, and faithful to You. Amen.  With love and prayers, May we be your faithful Philippians 2:16 Missionaries?

Philippians 2:16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

February 6, 2023 ~ Linda K. Milam February Devotions: "Compassion"

 And so, I continue. . .

That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works.  Psalms 26:7 KJV

Psalms 72:13 He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy. 14 He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight. KJV

History tells us and we repeat it even today, that the poor and needy are lower life forms basically and do not deserve anything from us! Many say, "They don't have to beg on the street, get a job do something productive with your life." Have you ever been so desperate that you did not know which way to turn. You're living in your car (if you are lucky enough to have one, you may be bunked down under a bridge or alley way) and your children live with you. They are hungry, dirty, and so sad and you know that if you do not find a way out of this situation, you could lose them to society. So, you beg for help. Sadly, because there are those who exploit begging as a job, many people do not want to give. I have seen with my own eyes, a "beggar" get into a nice car and drive off at the end of their day. They put in their full day's work, and probably going home to a nice place they live in, food on the table, lights are on etc. This is why, I believe most people drive by a person like this than not, without giving help. May God give us wisdom, compassion, and discernment in helping these folks. God Help us to recover the compassion that Jesus, our Messiah, and the one mentioned in this verse, has for the lost, poor, needy.

In this verse, the psalmist describes the One that has the greatest compassion of all! The coming Messiah who will ". . . save the souls of the needy." He is our model when it comes to serving people in need. We can reach out with material things such as food, clothes, lodging, but if the people we "help" have not the Gospel, it is a moot point to help them with the physical. All people need the Gospel, and we are the ones God has chosen today to reach the lost. The poor, needy of our world to see them saved and snatched from the hands of the devil and his demons.  What do they need most? Jesus Christ the Saviour of all.

My Preacher, Dr. Terry Booher, had the givingist biggest heart I have ever seen here on earth. . . but he used that precious big heart with compassion and wisdom. Many would come to the church for handouts. He didn't often give cash, but he would give them food, gas, clothes, diapers, formula . . . you name it. He would go down to the power company and pay a light bill or follow them to the gas station to fill theirr car up with gas, or the grocery store to buy them some groceries, a gallon of milk etc. That Was Dr. Terry Booher! O the compassion he would show to others!

He modeled his compassion after Christ, and that is what we all should do. One day if we are not careful, we could be on the receiving end like these folks. We are to have a love for ALL people RICH or POOR, and want to be a blessing. How about you? What are some of the things you can do to lift these poor and needy people up in Jesus' name?

The most important question you can ask them is do you know Jesus as your Saviour. Make sure if you are giving to these people, that you share the gospel. We travel everywhere with all kinds of Gospel Tracts. If we give anything, the Gospel is given first. At that point, you will know immediately if they are sincere in their desire to get better, be better, and to hear the precious Word of God.

May God ever give us a great compassion for the poor and needy.
