April 28, 2023 ~ LKMilam April Devotions: "The Good Shepherd"

 And so, I continue. . .
That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works. Psalms 26:7

Hebrews 13:20-21 ~ 20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. KJV

When Jesus shed His precious blood on the cross, He made it possible for all men to be saved by grace. His grace is for all and everlasting. He died, was raised from the dead, and is OUR GREAT ". . . shepherd of the sheep, . . ."  Because of this sacrifice, and my decision to believe, trust, accept Him as my Saviour, He gives me the ability ". . . to do his will, . . ." None of us could perform His perfect will without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. By the sacrifice of the Son of God, and the promise of the comforter, (The Holy Spirit) we can never be alone again!  Are you lonely, lost, without God, wandering in this great world of which is a wilderness and a temporary dwelling for all of us? Would you like to have that perfect peace that I have? You can! And when you accept Jesus as your Saviour, and the Holy Spirit indwells you, He will give you the peace and comfort you so desperately crave.

It is yours for the asking! Jesus came to save "whosover will" ~ that does not just mean the Jews, it means "whosoever" will. Come to the Lord today, admit you are a sinner, ask Him to forgive you of your sins and come into your heart and save you! When you do, your life will never be the same again. You will be saved and have that perfect peace I have!

HE CARES! Lost person, Do You Want to Know HIM?  Lord, help us to be wise, studied up, aware, and faithful to You. Amen.  With love and prayers, may we be your faithful Philippians 2:16 Missionaries?

April 24, 2023 ~ LKMilam April Devotions: "The Good Shepherd"

And so, I continue. . . That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works. Psalms 26:7

John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. KJV

Jesus said it so that there could be no mistake what He meant. He is the ideal of shepherd-like care for the people of God as illustrated in the Old Testament and in that culture. What Jesus described as a good shepherd is actually a Holy Sacrificial Shepherd. Shepherds may take risks for the safety of the sheep, but it is probably rare to find one who would willingly die for their sheep.  Jesus gave His life up for the sheep/the people He loved so much so that we could have life everlasting! John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

He is giving his life still. The life that is in the man Christ Jesus He is always giving for us. It is for us He lives, and because He lives, we live also. He lives to plead for us. He lives to represent us in heaven. He lives to rule providence for us.” (Spurgeon)

Do you know Him Lost person? Do you know that the Great Shepherd is also our Amazing Saviour of the world? That means that every living soul can be saved! If you are alive today, you still have an opportunity to be saved and secure your eternal resting place in heaven! O that you would heed the call. If you are reading this, it is not by accident! It is God planned! The Bible tells us clearly what we must do to be saved!

Come to him in repentance of your sin, in belief take Him as your personal Saviour, ask Him to forgive your sin and come into your heart and save you . . . you will never be the same again! To God be the glory!

HE CARES! Lost person, Do You Want to Know HIM?  Lord, help us to be wise, studied up, aware, and faithful to You. Amen.  With love and prayers, may we be your faithful Philippians 2:16 Missionaries?

May 11 ~ Dr. Tom Milam He Leadeth Me Devotional

“Always The Same”
Hebrews 13:8

Jesus is the bedrock of Salvation, anchored in His foundation is the utmost of security. If we are not careful, we will lean too hard on temporal things, that only rust, decay, and wear out with the using. Make up your mind today to set your affections on things above, and the one that abides faithful to you forever. We are found too many times, building on shifting, sinking sand, when we need to build only on the solid rock foundation, that nothing on earth or in Heaven can move. Lay everything you have on Him and learn to depend on nothing else but Jesus Christ, the Rock of our salvation. Be like Him, in His affections; Build all of your hope in what He has done, it is not hopeless, when hope abides within; Lay all your trust in the blood covering that cleanses withal, and depend only in His presence for fulfilling joy, peace and satisfaction, even though it seems everything is falling apart around you.

One day we will be found facing death, will your life do when you are dying? Your eyelids will close like purple curtains, are you praying for others like you should? Are you taking God at His word when He says, “study to show thyself approved unto God.” (II Timothy 2:15) or will you be found unapproved for lack of study? Don’t you think it’s best to lay all into the hands of one who will never leave you, one that you can trust to take you through the cold chilly waters of death? With Jesus, we’ll land safely home, and sit with Him there in the promised heaven. (Matthew 28:20)

“With you”

Tell all your faults and secrets,

To the One you can trust, and who cares.

The one who will never leave you.

And with whom all glory you’ll share.

We’re His, and far away we’ll not stay,

The promise is, “Lo I’m with you alway.”

23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

May 10 ~ Dr. Tom Milam He Leadeth Me Devotional

“Christ, The First Fruits”
I Corinthians 15:12-23

In all things, Christ went ahead of us, showing us the way. (John 14:6) We, as Christians, believe that Jesus died and is risen from the dead, that’s what makes us what we are. (I Corinthians 15:14-17) The resurrection proves that Christ is divine; (Romans 1:4) -- “. . .declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.” For Christ to be supreme and above all, equal with God; Christ both died, and arose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and the living.”  (Romans 14:9 we stand justified, according to Gods covenant, in that Christ suffered death, hell, and the grave, coming forth victorious over it all. “He was delivered for our offenses and was raised again for our justification” (Romans 4:25) One of the greatest days of my life was to stand in an empty tomb in Israel, remembering that verse.

Our being made a new creature is in connection with his resurrection, because we are, “begotten again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (I Peter 1:3) And our final resurrection rests upon this, “If the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. (Romans 8:11.) If Christ has not raised before us, then we will not rise, but He is indeed risen and we shall not perish, and in our flesh, we shall behold our God.

 “New”

We shall behold Him, in all His splendor,

because we have given our all in surrender.

The resurrection proves the glad old story,

We’ve been made new, to dwell in eternal glory.

April 19 ~ Dr. Tom Milam He Leadeth Me Devotional

“We Can See Clearly Now”
Matthew 27:51

When Jesus bowed His head on the cross and gave His life back to the Father, darkness fell like midnight, an earthquake rent the earth and graves burst open. Behind the veil (curtain) in the temple, the Priests were no doubt preparing the Lamb for sacrifice, but the veil ripped from top to bottom, (by the way, it was about six inches thick) no man could possibly tear it themselves. But I can see the Priests look at one another and say, “boys I believe we have just been put out of business, now Gods Glory can be seen by all.” Not only was Gods power manifested, but many other wonderful things could be realized and learned. The old law was not done away with, but fulfilled; no more animal sacrifices were needed, the one perfect Lamb had just been given, once for all. The mystery of the church was revealed and many other things were now open to view. The Mercy Seat could be seen, the glory of God shone from it; Now all could see clearly, the Revelation of God; Life and immortality are now brought to light, and those things which had been hidden from the foundation of the world are made known in Christ. The sacrifice for atonement was to be no more, no more the sprinkling of blood annually. No more bulls and lambs needed because Jesus took His own blood within the veil and sprinkled it upon the Mercy Seat once for all. We have access to God now, we can approach the throne of Grace with boldness, because of the Atoning blood that Christ presented for us.

“The Key”

The key to Heaven is Jesus,

let’s enter with Him there;

To Heavenly places while here with Him,

And there all Glory share.

5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

6  If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

April 18 ~ Dr. Tom Milam He Leadeth Me Devotional

“Can You Boast Of The Blood?”

Joshua 2:21

For the last several weeks I have talked very much about the blood of Jesus Christ, and today is no different. This precious atoning blood has left a trail from Genesis to the cross of Calvary. I believe assuredly that God is saying, “when I see the blood, I will pass over you.”

Let’s look at Rahab, who depended on the promise that the spies told her about. They told her if she would tie a scarlet cord in the window, that it would hang down to be seen, that the God of Israel would spare and preserve her, for her simple act of faith. You see, it is very important to be obedient, even in the most trivial matters, even it doesn't make a lot of sense to us or to others. She could have set back in her house, that was built upon a wall, and prayed all the while for Israel not to destroy her, but the scarlet cord, (which represented the blood) made all the difference to her and her household in doing the Lords will. Have you been paying close attention in doing the Lord’s will? Maybe you have accepted Christ and have not yet been baptized or been able to take the Lords Supper. Have you truly laid yourself out before the blood of Christ and said, cover me completely. I want to die to myself and come alive in Jesus? Have you trusted the work of Jesus to put your sins away as far as the east is from the west? Can you look back and claim forgiveness and look ahead and know that your only hope is in the precious blood of Jesus? Can the passer-by see the blood by your actions, or are you ashamed to mention it, or show it?

“By The Blood”

Let men and devils gaze  along,

But Jesus’ blood is my boast and song; Let the world crumble and spill,

But it’s by the blood He’ll save and fill.
