February 6 ~ Dr. Tom Milam He Leadeth Me Devotional

“Always Praying”

Ephesians 6:10-18; Psalms 103:2

The first prayer that God heard us pray was, “Lord have mercy on me a sinner and forgive me, this hour, for I am a needy creature.”  We came under His drawing convicting power, because no man ever comes to God without being drawn to believe. Then after our initial sins were forgiven and blotted out, we found ourselves praying even the more; for ourselves, things and others. We are now going to prayer-school to learn how to communicate with our Heavenly Father. We must learn to pray for the grace of sanctification, for grace to hold us steady. We hunger for a fresh supply of daily assurance in faith, deliverance in times of temptations, help in our daily duty, and when trials come it’s not wrong to cry out for relief. We need God and He’s disappointed when we don’t call to Him and trust Him in all our matters.

God is the only place to find deliverance, if you have anything at all, it came down from God. And you’ll not get anything of eternal value, but from God! Holy manna, food from Heaven fills our very souls, water from the rock of ages, Jesus Christ, quenches our thirsting hearts-- "Come and drink ye all of it..."

We are people full of wants, “Ask and ye shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you.” The wants and needs are great, but the supply is greater from His bountiful storehouse. Your prayers are many, but His mercies are countless.  He is hearing, He is strengthening you, and He is helping you as you ask; "We have not because we ask not.” (James 1:5)

“Mercy”

Doubting, trembling, yet I call,

Dishonoring, sinning, on the mercy seat I fall;

Blessings and benefits come from above,

With gratitude I acknowledge that

God is love.

January 15, 2023 ~ January 2023 Devotions: "Radiant"

And so, I continue. . .

That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works.

Psalms 26:7 KJV

Jeremiah 31:11-12 ~ 11 For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he. 12 Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.   KJV

At this time in Israels History they have been scattered, but God wants Jeremiah to let the people know, they are not lost.  He knows right where they are! He knows every hair on the head of every human being that ever was. He is GOD. And I thank HIM every day for His goodness to me and mine. He knows where we are, He is the one that guided us there and He is the one that establishes our lives for His honor and glory. We are blessed because of His love for us. I am blessed whether I deserve it or not, and I really do not deserve anything special.  God's loving kindness proves He has the ability to love and care for us as no other can.

His providential provision follows us, even as we are "homeless". We are right now housed in a beautiful house of which our hostess just told us it is a house, but it is right now YOUR home, and I would be very unhappy if you did not use it as you would your own home. How much more blessed can we get? I'll tell you. The HOME of the Booher's became our sanctuary after a very hard time. It was very difficult for us physically, especially with both of us fighting the issues with our health. It was hard emotionally; we feel as if we have lost our dearest friend as well as our home. It was hard. It still is, but at this precious saints bidding to stay with her, we had access literally to the entire home and was told, "Be at home as if it were your very own. I am honored and thankful I can help in any way! This is the first time God has let me give a Preacher of the Gospel and his wife a place to rest." Blessed! God is preparing a place for all of His people. A home that no one can take away from us. For those that have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, His Son, and taken Him as their own Saviour, we have a place in Heaven.

Jesus Christ Himself told us in the book of John chapter 14:1-3 ~ 1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

I know I will be in the throng alive or dead, that will be one of those called up to be with Him forever. Can you say that? Make sure of your own salvation. Not anyone else's, until you are sure of yours!

HE CARES!

Do You Know HIM?

Lord, help us to be wise, studied up, aware, and faithful to You. Amen.

January 12, 2023 ~ January 2023 Devotions: "Radiant"

And so, I continue. . .

That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works.  Psalms 26:7 KJV

Isaiah 60:1-3 ~ 1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. 2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. 3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.  KJV

IN THE PREVIOUS chapter of Isaiah, the people were still complaining and blaming God for their problems. Paul quoted Isaiah 59:7-8 in Romans 3:15-17. He used this passage, connected with other Old Testament passages, to demonstrate that man is a sinner from “head to toe.” Because of all this sin, it is amazing that God’s people could still believe (as they did in Isaiah 59:1) that the problem was with God, and not them. But seriously, don't we sometimes have those same feelings?

Through all of that, still Israel, and us sometimes cannot grasp that God is not the culprit in our problems, it is US! Many want to BLAME God for everything bad in their lives. Addictions, immorality, all the sinful things that keep us from living wholesome Christian lives - and just have a total disregard of our heavenly Father . . . all His fault, and that is NOT true. God is the God of love and grace and mercy, and He wants the BEST FOR US!  God's glory, light, and love is ours for the asking and He wants us to know and see that for our own lives. We are the sinner as Paul indicated from the top of our head to the bottom of our feet. Before my salvation I was the one living in the total darkness of sin. GROSS darkness.

BUT GOD! Don't you just love that holy conjunction, BUT? If it were not for the BUT, we would have no Jesus our Saviour or salvation, eternal life and happiness in heaven, and the full knowledge of this amazing information as we live here on earth that the Heaven life is ours for the asking and when we do, we can live daily in the light and glory of God. Where are you in your spiritual life? Are you still living in darkness never asking God to save you through Jesus Christ His son and the Saviour of the world? Or are you saved, but not living the full Christian life that you can have just for the asking? God wanted Israel to love Him and only Him, trust Him and only Him, and obey Him and only Him. Well, He wants us to do the same so that others can see His light and brightness in us. The Light and shining of God is ours for the asking.

When we have that light the Lord Himself said it in verse 3, And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.  Through our Christian life we can draw others to Christ! Don't you want to see your loved ones saved; your children, grandchildren, siblings, parents cousins, aunts uncles - all of your family? How can we have peace within ourselves if we have not made sure that each one sees the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives so that they can potentially realize their sinful condition, their destination to hell, and get a desire to change that direction towards Heaven and our Saviour?  Do All That You CAN to reach them before it is eternally too late. Are you attending church? Are you praying and reading your Bible at home and in front of that family under your roof, no matter the relationship? Is your LIGHT shining, or has it gone dim.  Make changes TODAY! You can do it with God's glorious power and strength.  His arm is not short to save! Believe it, LIVE it.

Do You Know HIM?

Lord, help us to be wise, studied up, aware, and faithful to You. Amen.

With love and prayers,

May we be your faithful Philippians 2:16 Missionaries?

January 6, 2023 ~ January 2023 Devotions: "Radiant"

And so, I continue. . .

That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works.  Psalms 26:7 KJV

Psalms 34:4-5 ~ 4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. 5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. KJV

Have you ever been afraid? I mean so afraid that you thought you would die of the fear. I have had great fear and it is very real. Some have even greater fears than I and again, they are very real. Some fear death and of not ever waking up. Others fear losing all their money, or a job. Some have the great fear of being alone, even when there are many people around and involved in your life.  It is that fear of never having that special someone in your life that makes you complete! Then there are those that fear physical things such as elevators, spiders, frogs, snakes, you can name any one of these and if this fear (phobia) is never conquered, it can control and destroy a person's life.

However, there is one fear I have that many don't even think of.  And it isn't a fear that can control me anymore, but there are millions of people that should fear this very real thing, but don't.  It is HELL! Hell has no hold on me, and my only fear of hell is that you my friend, might go there and never take an opportunity to avoid it. Hell was not made for the people of the world. It was made for one purpose. It will hold and defeat satan and his demons, but sadly, all those who have rejected the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour.  I am talking to those who have a knowledge of Jesus, but do not have Him in their lives after a personal decision to accept Hiim as their personal Saviour!

Hell is real. I am sure there is no one that has ever accurately portrayed the realness of hell for it is a horrible place. It is a life eternal of indescribable pain, agony, living and never escaping, for there is no death in hell as there is no death in Heaven. Make sure your final resting place is heaven. Don't let the devil steal what Jesus so freely gave to us when He died on the cross.

When you allow God to deliver you from all your fears, HE will. Your life will change, and it is true, your countenance will lighten and brighten just because of the Holy Spirit's indwelling your soul as you accept Christ as your Saviour. If you haven't made that decision yet, won't you do it today! He is waiting, but time is running out. Don't wait to late, He is coming soon to get all those that are His!

Do You Know HIM?

Lord, help us to be wise, studied up, aware, and faithful to You. Amen.

With love and prayers,

May we be your faithful Philippians 2:16 Missionaries?

Sunday December 11, 2022 ~ Devotions: "The Light of the World"

And so, I continue. . . . .

That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works.  Psalms 26:7 KJV

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!  KJV

Judgment Day is not just a day of wrath, it is also a day of rejoicing, a day of life and healing. Believers in Jesus Christ will not be judged in accordance to their sins but based on the righteousness of Christ that has been imputed to them by God's grace through faith (Ephesians 2:1–10; 2 Corinthians 5:16–21).

Ephesians 2:4-5 ~ 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) Those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour will avoid the wrath of God on judgment day. But the Bible clearly tells us, that those who reject Him, those who call evil good and good evil, to them there is a horrible judgment day.

Some folks like to hide behind their "religion" but religion, a pope, a bishop, monk, priests, nuns, friars, shamanist, Hinduism, pastor ~ these are just types and names that many flock to, but that is all they are. These people will not save you at judgment day, in fact, I venture to say they will also face judgment day and God's wrath will be poured out on those who have deceived His people into believing a lie.  All set up by the devil. The more types, the more confusion. Our HOPE IS BUILT ON JESUS! He is the one that imputed our sins when He died on the cross for us.

Do you know what the word impute means? It is used both legally and financially and means “to designate any action, word, or thing as credited to another person’s account.” Biblically, Adam’s sin was imputed to all his descendants, and they are to be dealt with as guilty. And because of that guilt on all man, Christ had to make a way that all men be imputed for that sin. His shed blood on the cross is the only way by which man could be saved. He was punished for our sins, and He did it willingly because of His love for us.

Most Evil of the world has traditionally been performed in the "darkness of night", not in the light of the day. But today, we see evil all around us. It is on our tv's, coming out of Hollywood, our neighborhoods and cities. It is done in broad daylight in front of our faces! There is no fear of God, in fact in the USA alone nearly half the people deny God and do not want them in their affairs.  But I warn you today ~ there IS coming a judgment day. Make sure you are ready to meet God on that day. Don't think so, hope so, and pray so . . . KNOW SO that you are saved by the grace of God through His precious sacrificed Son.  Jesus is the ONLY WAY to heaven. Good works will not get you there, although they are admirable. No man, woman, or child here now or before or after will get you to heaven. Only Jesus. Do you know Him personally? Is He the One you call your Saviour. It is our prayer to spread the Gospel in any way we can. Through Tom's preaching, our singing, the printed page, one on one visitation, or to a multitude. Give us the platform, and we will shout it to the mountaintops.  Be Saved Today!

"Woe unto them . . ." ~ a warning from Isaiah, written around 740 BC and c. 686 BC. . . Isaish knew then of the coming messiah and began warning God's people before He was born. And it is still true today. Make sure of your salvation before it is to late!

The Light of the World is Jesus

The whole world was lost in the darkness of sin,
The Light of the world is Jesus!
Like sunshine at noonday, His glory shone in.
The Light of the world is Jesus!

Come to the light, 'tis shining for thee;
Sweetly the light has dawned upon me.
Once I was blind, but now I can see:
The Light of the world is Jesus!

If you don't know Him, come to Him today!

Help us Lord, to be wise in our homelife and all that is going on with that. Thank you in advance, Lord, for working out our situation for a home in FL. Thank you for all who are praying for us.  I pray for those who have given of their finances, and that you will continue to supply. We know you are our great Provider, and we can't thank you enough. We thank you Lord for your wonderful mercy in Tom's eyes and ask that you would heal him completely or at least allow the drug to work. We love you Lord and thank you for first loving us. Amen.
