Acts 9:1-4 ~ 1 And Saul yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, 2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. 3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: 4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? KJV
Saul full of rage, evil, cruelty, envy and blood thirstiness; was on his way to wreak utter havoc and evil upon other Christians he found as he traveled to Damascus; not upon those that truly needed to be in prison or executed, he was going to call out every follower of Christ and attempt to murder them. Oh, my soul, the evil. But THEN that glorious Light of the World, shone down on him and his life was NEVER the same again.
I am glad that God looked beyond my sins and saw me worthy enough to be saved. As Saul traveled to Damascus he went with one goal in sight, to capture and torture every follower of Christ that came within his reach. He was evil. The devil's tool. BUT that day He called on the LORD - that all changed. The Bible says in Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. He loved us when we were sinners, and He still loves us today!
Saul's new name, Paul, would forever identify him with the One who once killed saints and caused such evil damage, but now saved and on his way to heaven! BUT GOD! You might say, God could never forgive me for all that I have done, but He can, and He will. You have control of your eternity and your eternal destination. Heaven or Hell, no other choices. But by bowing your head, humbly asking God to forgive your sin and invite Jesus to come into your heart and save you, insures your home in heaven. You HAVE CONTROL, just do it! Don't wait. If you do, it may be too late!
"HE IS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD!"
1 John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.
The Light of the World is Jesus
The whole world was lost in the darkness of sin,
The Light of the world is Jesus!
Like sunshine at noonday, His glory shone in.
The Light of the world is Jesus!
Come to the light, 'tis shining for thee;
Sweetly the light has dawned upon me.
Once I was blind, but now I can see:
The Light of the world is Jesus!
If you don't know Him, come to Him today!
