November 26, 2022 ~ Devotions: "The Grace of Giving"

  And So, I Continue . . . . . .

That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works.  Psalms 26:7 KJV

1 Corinthians 15:45 ~ 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam [Jesus Christ] was made a quickening spirit.  KJV

If there had not been man, Adam, there would have been no need for a Saviour, Jesus. But there was and there is! From the beginning God had a plan. This plan is perfect in all ways, and we get the benefits.  The gift of His Son was the ultimate gift and sacrifice. Foolishly, there are those who will not accept this Free Gift, and sadly because they choose not to take Jesus as their Saviour, on their last breath, or if the Lord return before death, they will be in Hell for an eternity. These people will not surrender to the Holy Spirits calling to salvation, they reject Him completely. Adam was a living soul, created by God, for His perfect pleasure. God loved Adam and as the generations continue, He loves us just as well. That is why He gave His first love, His Son. There was only ONE WAY TO SALVATION, AND He was willing to give Jesus as a sacrifice to save all mankind. HIS GIFT!

In John, chapter 6:63-65 the Bible says, 63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.  64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. 65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

Jesus is teaching us the difference between the quickening Spirit of God, and man's own flesh. We must have the Holy Spirit to have true and full, everlasting Christian life. The Christian life was never meant to be lived in our own effort and strength! Actually, it is impossible to overcome and have a victorious Christian life without the help of the Holy Spirit. Paul Said in Romans 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

If only we would lay down our foolishness and pridefulness and accept Jesus, that gift given by grace, and allow the Holy Spirit to enter in, we could do great things for the Lord.

If we would only learn,
GOD IS NOT LOOKING FOR YOUR ABILITY. HE IS LOOKING FOR YOUR SURRENDER!
His grace and mercy are gifts He gives us by the surrendering of our soul.

He is not looking for our talent, intellect or effort. No. The only thing that He needs is our surrender. I think that this is one of the hardest truths to get across to people. There is something in man that wants to do it all by himself! We think "nothing" could get done unless WE do it. When we do surrender, God gives us the Holy Spirit which indwells every Christian. Allow Him to take control, you will be surprised with what you CAN DO! It is through God’s Word that the Holy Spirit quickens us with new life, so that we become partakers of the Divine nature. The Bible tells us that we are by nature spiritually dead (because of Adam), and that when the miracle of the New Birth takes place, we are born again by the quickening work of the Holy Spirit (because of Jesus). With the Holy Spirits control we are made a "new creature". 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

If you don't know Him, come to Him today!
