Let Go and Let God! ~ LKMilam

Romans 13:14  But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

This means we are not to supply the "flesh" any opportunity to sin. By keeping our Lord Jesus Christ as our focus, we will not be led to ". . .fulfil the lusts thereof."  We should love Him so much that we will want to obey Him and when we do we will stay spiritually healthy.  We should have a desire for the Word of God and the things of God. We should want to be used of God by serving others in His stead. When we do we will have an overflowing love that expresses itself in visible signs of obedience. But when we fail in this area - our actions turn into tragic decisions that affect our entire lives and those lives that we come in contact with on a daily basis.

My heart is heavy today for some that are reaching out to us with homes that are broken, and children that are hurting.  We are bombarded many times with the hearts cry from people, young and old, trying to understand the heartbreak in families that are torn apart by the devil.  When we take our eyes off of the Lord on a continual basis, we will find ourselves in a very dangerous spiritual condition.  That weakness will be pounced upon by the devil himself in an effort to keep the Christian in a backslidden condition, breaking our relationship with God, and ultimately and sadly with our friends, family, people we love.  Don't think it could never happen to you.  It can.

Many are facing today many unhappy situations because they broke the tie with God - He hasn't left or moved, we have.  What will it take for God to get your attention again? Your Spouse, children, sisters, brothers, loved ones all around you? Will you lose their relationship because of your decisions?  It happens everyday, sadly.  Re-examine your choices. Know that God is waiting on you Christian, to turn around and start walking back to HIM.

We know that God ultimately has to heal and repair the broken hearted... I wish I could ~ I'm a fixer. I want to make all things right, but I cannot.  When you realize this very important point, you have to Let Go and Let God! Easier said than done you say? Yes, it seems so.  But if we don't let go and let God fulfil his own wishes for our loved ones, we are just hindering and prolonging the heartbreak. I found this poem somewhere, and it helped me, I hope it helps you.

Letting Go
Author Unknown

To let go doesn't mean to stop caring;
It means I can't do it for someone else.
To let go is not to cut myself off...
It's the realization that I can't control another...
To let go is not to enable,
but to allow learning from natural consequences.
To let go is to admit powerlessness,
which means the outcome is not in my hands.
To let go is not to try and change or blame another,
I can only change myself.
To let go is not to care for, but to care about.
To let go is not to fix, but to be supportive.
To let go is not to judge,
but to allow another to be a human being.
To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes,
but to allow others to affect their own outcomes.
To let go is not to be protective,
It is to permit another to face reality.
To let go is not to deny, but to accept.
To let go is not to nag, scold, or argue,
but to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.
To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires,
but to take each day as it comes and cherish the moment.
To let go is not to criticize and regulate anyone,
but to try to become what I dream I can be.
To let go is not to regret the past,
but to grow and live for the future.
To let go is to fear less and love more.
